About the Department

• Background (Overview):

  The Department of Physiology was founded in the Faculty of Medicine of King Abdulaziz University / Rabigh  at the outset of the faculty establishment in 1439. The Department is specialized in teaching physiology, which is one of the basic medical sciences. This subject is concerned with studying the functions of the different body parts in order to understand the changes in normal body functions which can contribute to the pathophysiology of the diseases.

   

• Department Mission:

  To deploy the new basic clinical knowledges in the field of Physiology among the Faculty students, and to conduct researches related to physiology, enriching the community with distinguished and skilled doctors in health care.
